I’m experiencing the same issue..
Hi All,
I also experiencing the same issue, i also replaced the belt tensioner and the belt several times. still getting the same rattling noise from the tensioner. Its really sad to say the Local Audi garage and few other technicians were failed to identify and solve the issue.
My car is AUDI A6 C6 2008. 2L TFSI Engine
Thanks.

Hear this
If the tensioner shakes rapidly, rattling too, change it.
if it continues with the new tensioner, get a 1/4inch less diameter belt, route it back on the pulleys and enjoy.

Good Day!
Last week only i saw your replay when I research about the same issue as the local Audi agent and few Audi garages were failed to give a proper solution for same issue. So finally based on your reply yesterday I have replace the original Audi drive belt (06D903137E)with a different aftermarket drive belt (6PK 1560) which is 1" smaller than the original belt.
After suffering more than a year from the same issue now its working smoothly as a brand new vehicle.
So the final conclusion is the original Audi Drive belt is bigger than the size as it needs to be. I have replaced 4 genuine Tensioners and Drive belts which didnt work for my Audi A6 C6 2008.
Thank You soo much!

Yeeehaaghh!!
You're most welcome. This works on every car too, it just takes a bit extra strength to route the smaller belt and that's all. I'm glad the myth is finally busted, as we keep enjoying the luxury of FOURRINGS.
