car started running rough with what seemed to be a misfire.
determined cyclinder 1 coil was the proble, replace cylinder 1 coil.
ran great for 45miles. then ran rough at low idle. also runs ****ting at high ilde seeming to misfire again again.
went to orielys to get code read of car computer. gave code p2293 fuel pressure regulator 2.
so replaced cylinder 2 coil because that seemed like it was running the engine rough. changing the coil to made car run a little better.
drove car to work for 12 miles with misfires.
car would not run at all until we replaced fuel pump
decided to start fixing syptoms of p2293 code as follow: changed fuel filter, change HPFP(high pressure fuel pump).
started car after changes and still misfires.
also noticed catalytic converter is getting red hot at high idle.

Same thing happening to my 2013 A8 right now. Guy was saying that my valves were carboning up. Wanted to charge me $600 to spray the valves with organic walnut shells.

He tried moving coils and plugs around but still misfiring and running like crap.

This is going to sound stupid. But did you replace the plugs as well? I had the same issue replaced the coil and it ran great then the it would idle bad. Then replace the plugs no longer an issue. Outside of that did you also replace the Fuel Pressure regulator by the motor?
