Simple bracket for BBK?
What some are using on their Volvo 850's to mount radial mounted Aston calipers...10mm/3/8 mild steel. Seems it could be used with Porsche's too but I'd use Stainless steel.

Not sure I'd be up for designing my own caliper brackets. The old BIRA brackets are a work of art, and some of the others are pretty beefy, well designed. I've also heard some horror stories. Google is your friend.
Brakes are just too important a performance/safety feature to use a part that has not been overdesigned and well tested.
Go commercial. You won't regret it.
(I'm running 996 C2 calipers on my '01 A4 and '99 A6. S4 rear calipers to balance system on both.
