Track Monster yes or no?

Why use a VR6?? Just make it easy on yourself and use the 2.7T and build it up. As far as a track car, I have no experience racing, but these are fairly chunky cars, and the engine is set so far ahead of the suspension/axle point, that they have a tendency to nose dive and understeer.

Got to agree with Prospeeder. I assume you are looking at this generation of car as a cheaper option than a late model build up. If that's so, I would drift toward a 3 series BMW (say E36) of the same age. The balance would be better, engine bay larger so you can reposition the motor, lots of aftermarket suppliers for bodywork & mods, and lots of engines to choose from. I had E34's and E36's for years, used to do a few club track days here (Australia). Probably not the politically correct thing to say on this forum, and by all means if you want to do it, go hard. These days its all VAG at our house, (4 cars now) but no more track days.

Track question: PDA is hosting an event @ Summit Point Raceway, WV. Is it worth to visit this track?
