Turn key to start position, no dash lights new battery
I'm having issues trying to get my 2000 A4 2.8 to start.
Every now and then, the car will turn over but not start. The battery was getting weak so I replaced the battery. It cured the problem for 3 days and then I started having issues again.
When I turn the key to the start position, sometimes I get no dash lights. (The ECU testing itself) I'll try to start. It turns over but does not start. I'll put the key back to the start position and then all of the indicator lights come on like their supposed too. I'll turn the key off and then back to the start position and then the service light will come on. I'll pull the ECU fuses and put them back in. And then turn the key back to the start position. When it's cold all of the indicator lights will come on and the car will start. It runs perfectly. I will then turn the car off and try to restart and the problem starts all over again. But then I cannot get it to start again when the car is warm. I'll go back the next morning and sometimes it will start, sometimes it won't. I start the procedure all over again.
Any ideas on where to start? When I turn the key on and the ecu test starts the car starts fine. It's when no lights come the dash and the ecu test procedure does not start is when it doesn't start. New battery and turns over fine.
