The vent light mod, for those of who arent lucky enough to have them
I was able to get the updated vents for $60 from Jose at Euro-Tech motors in LA from a car he is parting out.

Here is a comparison of my old 97 vents (Bottom) with the 99+ Illuminated vents (Top). Not a very substantial difference in daylight.

I started by removing the old vents, which can be done by hand. Next I removed the armrest/e-brake section, followed by the center console and then dropped the glove box.

Fished 22 gauge wires between the space where the vent ends and the rubber for the dash starts. No drilling is necessary

Same thing with the center vent but more stuff needs to be removed to gain access. All connections were then soldered and run to the 58a terminal post . No dimming is available this way but I never dim anyway.

Everything back together
