After a year or two of solid hardcore Jedi mind tricks by me, my buddy Brad just bought a 2002 A4 Avant. Denim Blue. It's damn pretty. Sport package (they get 235 rubber stock!), cloth seats (even tho they're non sport - they're actually quite decent on the 02s, and unfortunately, TIP. The wife nixed the 5sp - they share the car). He'll get a 5speed on the next one - baby steps I figure!



Anyway - he's ecstatic. It's cool to turn a friend on to the family - I think I'm as happy for him as he is! =)

after I managed to cut him a good deal with my sales guy (2.5% over invoice), he placed an order for a 2002 A4 3.0 sport. Unfortunately, I couldn't convince him to get quattro and stick, so he got the CVT tranny.

Oh well, baby steps, like you said ;-)

Buying an extended warranty on a new car is a mistake IMO, but still sounds like a good deal.

Why? Extended warranties are pro-rated...you get your money back if you sell the car early anyway.
