I have an 02 audi a4 and the car "stalled" while going 80 on the hwy. When it happened all the lights radio etc stayed on. I only noticed it happened because the throttle no longer worked and I could not accelerate. I pulled over and the check engine light , EPC light, and battery light came on in my car. We attempted to jump start the car wit no success. Although I'm not sure the battery is the issue when I try to start the car it sounds like it really wants to turn over all the belts are moving.I checked the fuses and one did blow it was for the computer module. I replaced it with no luck when trying to start the car. I thought it was possibly the crank shafts senor since previously our car did give the code for this being bad, how ever still having the same issue. Not sure if this is relavent but prior to the car doing this on the hwy we were sitting at idle for maybe 4p min and the car only made it another 10 miles or so. Any help would be amazing. Really just trying to figure out what needs to be replaced.

Sorry I'm new here. Did you ever diagnose the issue? If so what was the cause for failure?

We found out the water pump and timing belt went out. since the timing system failed while driving we also had to replace the cylinder head because we ended up with bent valves. so in total the timing system and cylinder head were the replacementsame needed..
