New to owning an Audi and also the forum..

I bought a 2004 Audi A4 Avant 1.8td about 5 months ago.

After one month of having it I lost my licence for driving to fast at midnight where there were roadwork signs (I was doing normal speed limit but it was halved)

Anyway, I live in Finland and the cops are white strict so a 3 month ban given.

The car has been outside in my parking space but any of you who know about Finland might be aware it gets damn cold in the winter. Well below freezing.
I started it yesterday as I get my licence back tomorrow and noticed a problem, the gear lights are all lit up.

I took it for a little drive around our house and the gears were changing automatically, the reverse worked and seems that the sport did too. The tiptronic wouldn't though and seemed to stay in first.

Could the lights all be on due to a low battery as it's been idle for months?

Everything was fine before I stopped driving..

Any help on that would be appreciated!

The second thing is rear wiper broke just before I stopped driving and I went to replace it today and noticed it's pretty tricky.

The wiper arm snapped off and the small metal ring that would slip over the bolt on the wiper mechanism has stayed on from the old wiper and it's very difficult to get off. Do I need a special tool to pull it off?

Appreciate any help on either of these problems!
