Default After fill-up starting is very rough...

I have noticed over the last few weeks, after a fill-up my 2005 1.8L B6 Avant has a very hard time starting/turning over and is very rough until I get out on the road. Between fill-up is starts and runs very well. The only time it is difficult to start is just after a fill-up. Has anyone heard of such a thing and if what could be causing this?

Thanks in advance,
Jaimo

The only thing that makes any sense in your scenario is the Evap system. This was added several years back to make the fuel system fully sealed, not allowing any vapors out. It essentially adds a fuel line to your fuel tank and runs it through a carbon filter to absorb the vapors which is then pulled into the engine and burned. Generally, if it is malfunctioning, you get a CEL. The only way to know if there is an issue here is to download codes with a VAGCOM reader.

Mileage?

Thanks,
I'll try and get the VAGCOM on it this evening.

I have been suffering through this for a few months... Mainly because I am a Dad, a coach and a little lazy at the same time.

Thanks,
Jaimo
