Hey B6 guys, thanks for your time reading this. My headlights been causing me problems for weeks! At first I thought the bulb was bad so I got a new bulb, come to find out its the ballast. (I tested the other side to verify 100% its the ballast). Got a rebuilt one a couple days ago, hooked it up, and the mug starts smoking!! the wires on the 4 piece clip that plugs into the ballast melted from where it plugs in, and about 4' of wiring. I made sure the bulbs was correct, and I triple checked that they sent me a LAD5GL ballast, and they did. why did these wires smoke up like this?? and whats the easiest/best way to get this problem fixed cuz I m tired of getting pulled over lol. I love the HID lighting on Audi's, but money is getting tight after putting $300 into it so far and only got burnt up wires. is it possible to dismount the HID and hook up the regular H7 bulb? thanks guys!

Sounds like your "rebuilt" ballast (never heard of that by the way) was faulty. You may have to completely replace the wiring.
