Default Hoping to buy my first Audi tomorrow..a little help.

Hi Hoping to get my first ever Audi tomorrow or Saturday.. Came here to ask for some assistance.

2002 1.8t quattro
I don't know what trim level it is or what not, but it has leather and a sunroof, white in color. It has 152k miles on it. One quarter sized rust spot behind the front driver's side wheel well.. is it worth the $3k they are asking for it? I have not run a carfax on it yet, but I more than likely will before purchasing it. Carfax says they have 48 records for the car. Actually, that's another reason I came here.. hoping to maybe find somebody who got 'unlimited' vin carfaxs and has one they don't need and are willing to either sell it or run one for free for me. Vin is WAULC68E12A177058

The place selling it is a small lot, and the guy said that the car has been his daughter's for the past two years (don't really think he would buy it for her if there was something wrong with it) and the only reason he is selling it is because she was visiting and saw another car on his lot and 'fell in love' with it.

My 2 cents:

I would not buy a car unless I had some details of the history of the car; i.e. how was it serviced, what maintenance has been done, etc. I have bought from friends that I trusted (BMW 325Ci), cold called a previous owner when I found his number in the glove box (Audi A4), and had my local dealer show me records on the latest purchase (Audi TT). If you don't, you may be buying a car just waiting to break. And maybe the guy knows of some issues with it which is why he is selling it. Oh, and Carfax should only be used as another source of info to validate the history you get from the seller.

Keep looking. Four rings on the grille and three pedals on the floor, the only way to go IMO. If you buy an automatic, you're not driving an Audi, you're just steering it. And if that automatic hasn't been taken care of properly, big headaches.
