Default Left Turn signal light staying on, where is the relay switch?

a week ago i started having trouble in that my front left indicator light is staying on full, not blinking, even if the car is switched off, as a result of this it has burnt off the amber colouring and drained the battery, messing about with the indicator stalk will eventually switch the light off and make it start blinking again but it turns back on full after a few mins by itself. After a lot of research i am now thinking it could be a faulty/sticking relay switch, but can any one tell me where this is? i think the b5 model is behind the hazard switch, mine is not.. its an audi a4 1.9 tdi (b6)

any help on this would be much appreciated

thanks
