Hello.....when i bought my 2003 A4 it came with a STUPID radio which has to go....(I would have been happy with the ORIGINAL Audi radio.) So i want to install one of these ebay Chinese android 4.1 radio units. My question: How much depth is in the 2 DIN opening? A friend of mine will install the radio for me so I need to know the measurements before I order a unit which could be too big. Millimeters or inches would be fine...thanks!!

Is the production harness intact? If so and if it were me, I would not mess with an aftermarket. I would go to a junk yard, find a radio in a junker, keep the receipt, go to the dealer to get the code, and install a factory stereo. Of course, I'm old and don't use Aux ports or cassette adapters.

If you have a single din radio now, you are going to need a climate control bracket. That is double din. Then your new DD radio will fit.

Ok...i got the android radio installed as i wanted to. I just took my chances. ONLY thing which didnt work out the steering wheel buttons couldnt be connected to this radio...because of the Bose speaker system as I was told from the electronic store who installed the radio for me. All in all I am happy with the result!
