Quick question. My rear door blades on my 2004 A4 Ultrasport are rusted to crap. Well, actually, it's the internal part of the mount that's rusted. I know this is a common issue. I can easily pop the actual exterior panel off of the rusted mounting plate and it't in great shape.

My question is this, can I buy a used regular (non S4 or s-line) rear door blade, pull the flat external panel off and mount my s-line blade to that backing? Anyone tried this?

Used regular blades are cheap, but the S4 blades are crazy expensive.
