Here’s a simple mod I have done to beef up the exhaust trimson your 1.8T without removing the old ones.
I measured up the OD of stock chrome tips and found them tobe the perfect size for the ID of the Audi Q7, you can buy used ones on ebay orOEM ones for about £25, then simply slip on, no welding or cutting !

I looked on eBay, and there are many Q7 tips. Could you tell us which ones you ordered? Do they slip on with no additional screws or clamps. And how long have you been using them? Do they rattle?

I just searched for large exhaust tips and found that theAudi Q7 is the correct ID (inside diameter) for the OD (outside diam) of the A4trim as the Q7 tips simply slide onto a 80mm exhaust pipe (the OD of the A4 is78mm). The spring clips inside centralise and hold the tips in place with norattle. You can tweak them a little for a snug fit. The length of the tip isslightly longer too so covers the old one and nearly goes to the box.


The angle is slightly more than the A4 but looks fine onceyou slip the exhaust tip over.
