Gasket Leak...!!! How serious an issue is this???
I'm not positive which gasket is leaking, but im getting a burning smell through my A/C when I stop at lights. With the holidays coming up I would ideally like to push this expense off a couple months. What do I have to worry about or what should I keep my eye out for?
Thanks in advance,
Michael

If it's oil smell, could be numerous things; leaky valve cover is near the top of the list, but you should be able to look around and see where the engine is tacky and thus where the leak / seep is. I know I have one on my oil cooler. Generally, delaying fixing is not an issue if it isn't leaking a bunch and you can stand the smell.
If it's electrical (plastic smell), well you will know soon enough if you can wait when something stops working.

I think it would be safe to say it's your valve cover gasket.
Once the gasket goes oil likes the seep out the sides and run down the side of the head on to the exhaust manifold.
Obviously this manifold gets extremely hot so oil will burn right off it. This creates smoke and since the intake for the climate control is right on the same side near the fire wall it often gets pulled into the vents and expelled into the cabin.
We have new valve cover gaskets available below at a great price. The job is super easy. If you're handy it could be completed in under an hour.

It's also possible. You need to replace the valve cover gasket any way if you chant the CCT gasket since you need to remove the valve cover obviously.
We have CCT gaskets available too, they are also inexpensive.
