I just had my transmission overhauled a few weeks ago. I just finished up the car tonight. Prior to installing the trans I ordered 7 quarts of Redline ATF fluid, put in roughly 1/2 quart into the torque converter. I am completely through all 7 quarts of ATF, and the transmission is still low(not overflowing) The steps I took when filling; 1. Filled transmission with about 3.5 quarts without the motor running until it overflowed. Plugged in my vag-com to monitor temps(keeping it under 40c) while filling with the motor running. Rather anxious to get my b6 back on the road! Any ideas on total capacity with new torque converter the trans takes? Redline is not available anywhere locally, therefore I have to order it and I'd like this to be my last order if possible. Roughly took in about 6.5 quarts so far minus a little spillage ~ Thanks in advance for any help guys!

Little searching and found that it is 9 to 9.5 qts.

cheers! I couldn't for the life of me find anything that showed a total capacity for the 01v trans. When I ordered 7 quarts, I wasn't thinking and went with what people were saying when they did a fluid change. Didn't take into consideration I had a new and fully dry torque converter as well as the rest of the transmission where ATF wouldn't drain from.

I've put in just under 10quarts, and it's still not full! :S
