I have had this issue for a while and wondering if anyone has experienced the same. I have taken the trunk lid trim off and when I push the button once the solenoid fires all the way but if I push straight after the solenoid only reaches 3/4 of the way in and on subsequent button pushes the solenoid moves less and less until it doesn't move at all.

Is or could this be linked to another issue which is the rear windscreen wiper mechanism developing a fault due to leakage of fluid into the housing and possibly damaging elsewhere in the trunk cavity area?
If anyone could tell me if it's just a solenoid I need or switch or motor (I don't think it's the motor as it fires)
