Default 2003 1.8 Cabriolet checking in!! But problems already

So after a long time of being a BMW owner, I am back to the Audi scene. Just picked up a 2003 A4 1.8 Cabriolet with 120k miles. No timing belt history!! LOL Getting that done this week.

So here is the problem, I have searched and searched.
I am getting shaking, vibration under acceleration, yes I have searched and checked many threads already. Things I checked and did.

Checked both axles, the right one was bad, so I replaced it, shaking less but still very present. The driver side looks original, but no tears in boot. Can the axle go bad with the boot being torn?

Changed spark plugs, still there

Changed Fuel filter, still there

No check engine light!@!!
Also noticed that my serpentine belt tensioner is loose and bouncing but no sqeaking sounds at all.
Had all four wheels balanced.

When I drive the car with cold engine, it drives fine, but once the engine is warmed up problem returns.

This is driving me nuts.

It shakes worse at 20-30mph and it vibrates when I push on the pedal. Also the car feels very slow, and slow acceleration. Once i get past 40mph the car vibrates under load and is slow. The next step is new coils... But can the coils or coil be bad without thowing a CEL? Coil pack was changed under recall already. I am in Walnut CA. Any Audi gurus here with VAG that can help me with couple of things for some beer and Korean BBQ?

Only input I have is the axle can go bad without the boot being ripped. Had that happen to me...

Try replacing the other axle. The inner joint will fail, boot will be fine, and cause all sorts of vibration. make sure your engine mounts are good also, they can cause the inner joints to wear out and cause vibration.

Thank you for your replies. Is there a way to check/test the axle is bad before wasting time and money?

Well put the car on jack stands. rotate the wheels watch the inner joint on the axle. Does it wobble as it spins or just not look like the other new side? Grab it and move it around, does it have a bunch of play in it? if so its junk.
