2005 A4 2.0 turbo CVT/ZF Blue TCM reflash? How?
Hey guys and gals.
I'm going to attempt the ZF blue fluid change in my GF's audi, but was wondering how can I perform the TCM flash update? Is that a tool that only the dealer has? If so, what is the tool called?
Thanks!

I asked my dealer about that, and the service manager had NO IDEA about it. What have you found out about the change, and does it really apply to the A4 trans? Also, I do not think that a VAG COM can flash the TCM..

Here is an old thread. A few have indicated they have performed this 'fix' and it seemed to have worked for them. Take a look and let me know your thoughts.

I've read about it, but like i said, my local dealer had no idea. He knew of the fluid and programming change to fix a problem with the A8, but not the A4. I was going to check with a different dealer, but never did.

Well, if you do check with another dealer, please report back. It would be greatly appreciated.

You DO realize that the thread that is linked above refers to the Tiptronic transmission but your thread title references the CVT (also known as Multitronic) transmission. I know for certain that the fluids used in the Tiptronic will not work in the CVT and I would assume that the programming of each is entirely different.
Or am I missing something here?

If you're changing the fluid, assuming you don't have any trans issues, you can get away with not running an adaptation procedure. However IMO it's probably something you want to do after the fluid change and yes the dealer does one after a fluid change as well as change out the external inline filter.
