I started hearing a bunch of grinding in the engine compartment during travel and at stops. Eventually, it started becoming worse on startup, and then never stopped. Finally, I took it in for an oil change and discovered it was my A/C Compressor fixing to end it's life. Yesterday, when I got back home it ended, that was it, I discovered the A/C clutch pulley fixing to break off because it was grinding and moving from side to side way to much so now its parked and needs fixing. The dealer blew me away with there cost, so I want to try and tackle this project on my own.


1. I seem to be confused on the model, am I correct by stating that my 2007 Audi A4 Quattro S-Line 3.2 L V6 Wagon...is it an :Avant"? or just "Wagon" and, what motor B7?


2. I'm evenly mechanically inclined, but not so much on this vehicle. Do I have to remove some of the front end to get to the compressor?


3. Do I need to replace other components as well during this new installation and what are the components?


4. What exact replacement compressor do I need to buy?


5. Do I need to discharge the system before disconnecting compressor?


6. What tools do I need to get the job done?
