My wife drives a 2007 Audi A4 Multitronic. A few days ago, while driving, the gears suddenly shifts from Auto to manual mode, and then it changes from 3rd to 5th to 1st and so on. When driving in manual mode, it shifts automatically to Auto and back. It seems to happen when driving a terrain with slopes, and after the car is warmed up.

Any ideas?

Check the circuit board underneath the shifter. Also need to get the trans scanned for trouble codes to see that it's not on the way out.
