A4 2008 or 2009 model year?

A4 2008 or 2009 model year?
Hello all,
I'm new to the forum and I have a question I have been kicking around for a few days now.
My son is looking to buy a A4 due to the fact he currently has a Mustang that is rear wheel drive and it's not so good in the winter months.
We live in PA where get get some snow , Ice and what have you during those winter months.
He is a college student and is not going new so we have been looking around and narrowed it down to 2 cars.
1) 2008 A4 loaded nicely , it says it's an S line but only on the front grill. The Steering wheel is a 4 spoke so I don't think it has the full S line package. It's a Automatic car in silver with black interior in beautiful shape with 59k on it.
2) 2009 A4 loaded exactly the same as the 2008 with 64k on the clock. Both of these cars have the Navigation unit in them so thats nice. This car is black on black.
The 2009 seems to be a larger vehicle with 11 more HP. I Don't know if thats a big deal or not so I figured I'd ask.
Also between the 2 cars which one has a better service history? Meaning which on has more issues or less if you will?
Price wise they are only 2k difference meaning the 2009 is 2k more. Both cars look to be well taken care of by the original owners which both cars car fax report only 1 owner and no accidents so thats always good.
So which way would you go?

For North America - 2008 = B7 platform, 2009= B8 platform. Since both are now 5+ years any initial factory recalls should have been done by now.

The 2008 was at the end of it's model run, while the B8 was it the beginning (though rest of the world was getting B8's a year before we did). Going through the forums both have had a similar issues over the years so I don't think you can really say one is better or worse than the other. I've had my B7 since new and haven't had any major problems with it and don't expect any in the future as I've been rigorous with the maintenance schedule.
I'd just go with whichever one you like best, since both seem to be in similar condition.
