Alternator B2+ ?

Alternator B2+ ?
Hey guys,
Audi Newb from Perth here. I've got a 2005 B7 - the more uncommon 2.0L non turbo version. I've just changed out my thermostat and now need to replace the alternator which had died. Problem is I ordered a replacement alternator and when it arrived it had an extra terminal on it. My original valeo just had the electronics connector and B1+ output post. The replacement Jaylec model has an additional B2+ output post. Anyone auto electric gurus know if I can leave that unconnected and the alternator will still function per design? Or maybe this 'replacement' is not compatible.
Cheers,
Brett

That's probably for the "idiot" light.. I do not know if it will work with your car. Did you give the parts house your VIN when ordering the alternator? Not all are the same, and I believe that some alternators won't charge unless all connections are made.

Hey Kris,
Thanks, Yeah I gave them my Vin and checked another website which states this alt is for my specific car. Its just i've never come across an alt with B1+ and B2+, plus an electronics connector. I dont want to go bridging those positives without knowing its not going to blow something.
I'd rather not add extra wiring if dont have to either...

Hey Kris,
When i first time I kicked the engine over after installing the new alternator, everything appeared to short out. I redid the wiring, but it wasn't until i left both battery terminals off (maybe it reset everything) that I could start the car normally.
Weird thing is now the central locking remote isn't working and the stereo wont come on. Not sure what I've done, but im thinking (hoping) it wont be too hard to fix. May just need to plug into diagnostics and see whats happening.
