Hi, some help please thinking of buying an Audi A4 2.0 Quattro 170bhp diesel, 2007 model, I am hearing to stay away from the 170bhp version, any thoughts and help please?

Are you in the US ?? Didn't know that the A4 had a diesel that year. I am researching an A4 2.0 T petrol for my son and came across the mention of the oil pump possibly having an issue. Actually found one for sale with an oil pump going out with 80K miles on it and thought it might be good to fix since it was a good price. After reading up on the repair I decided no way, it is at the bottom of the motor, chain driven, and an absolute nightmare to service and very expensive to have a shop do it.

I don't know if the same configuration was being used in the diesels but I would definitely do a search on this. As for the diesel, the 2.0 has been around a long time but I am not familiar with the Audi diesels. I have 2 Land Rover Discovery diesels in Europe and they are great.
