AudiA4 2007 U0100 error code
Hi,
Really odd things are happening with my audi for the past 3-4 months.
- It won't start (very randomly, no rhyme or reason). It starts eventually after 2-5 minutes of my continuously trying. I read somewhere that if I smoke in a car, I might need to vacuum the dashboard/vents. When I do, it starts right away.
- Four times now the car just randomly stops while I am driving and then starts again. I hear a sound like I run over something (like an animal) and within 20 seconds the car slows down and stops. Upon restarting, it drives just fine.
- Took it to our trusted mechanic, he ran diagnostic and found this error code U0100. Said it has something to do with a computer, I might need to have it replaced for 4K at the dealer.
Anybody had any experience with this? How did you end up fixing it? I would hate to take it to the dealer to be honest, since last time I took it, they even charge me 45$ to change the battery in my key, so I am sure it'll be insanely expensive.

Take it back to your trusted mechanic and have him check all the relays underneath the ECU. Ask him not to make a mess of things while he does it. It's not a simple open close process. If he can't do it without breaking things find an independent Audi mech. Also you need to quit smoking, but that has nothing to do with your issue. Good luck
