Buying a A4 B7, is this service history good or bad?
Hi'
I'm looking to buy a 2007 A4 B7 2.0 Turbo (FSI) S Line Tiptronic quattro wagon with 121,000km, it looks in great condition however I'm worried that it has been serviced correctly and would like to know if it has or not from the history so here is the service log:
18,000km service - Oil chanage and 12 month inspection (only)
30,136km service - Oil chanage and 12 month inspection + Brake fluid change
46,038km service - Oil chanage and 12 month inspection (only)
64,338km service - Oil chanage and 12 month inspection + Brake fluid change + Air cleaner element renewed
78,629km service - Oil chanage and 12 month inspection (only)
96,788km service - Oil chanage and 12 month inspection (only)
110,949km service - no ticks - invoice missing
120,386km service - Oil chanage and 12 month inspection (only)
So there is no sign of the following:
"v" Belt change
Tooth belt change
Ribbed belt change
When are the belts due for a change?? Is this service history okay?
It's are really clean car with good tyres, has the ownwed saved on servicing?
Feedback is welcome as I don't want to buy a car that hasn't been looked after.

Audi says 107k. However most shopes will suggest every 60-70k. Oil changes are dependant on the actual car, all a4s 2.0s burn oil in different amounts because they are turbo driven and may be problematic...some burn a lot more. Most a4 owners would keep oil changes around five thousand miles between.
So the service records show just Audi service. It doesn't necessarily mean that service has been done somewhere else or by the previous owner himself. Note: when Audi does a timing belt change, typically they will place a metallic sticker on the black belt cover with date.

107,000 miles is about 170,000km - I would be looking to do the timing belt at around 140,000km; certainly that's what I'm planning for my 2008 Avant. You should check for status of brakes and tires as well; Having records for all those intervals is usually a good sign maintenance is being done. Go for it if overall condition and price works for you.

I just bought a 2007 A4 quattro sedan with 62,892 miles (101,219 km) and is loving it, but I would have loved the Avant even more. I believe the CarFax service record is a good tool before buying a used car. Looks like you have it already. I say go for it.

You may also want to check the VIN with Audi to see what possible service bulletins, recalls, and warranty extensions correspond with that specific car.
I just did that with the one I picked up recently, and found it interesting that all three of the most common complaints I see here ( PVC tube, coil packs, and cam follower for the HPFP) were all showing extended to 120K miles, but they were not able to advise if the service had been done, was open, or if there needed to be a current failure in order to have the services done.
Also everything on your list is pretty much regular maintenance items, and for the most part reasonable easy DIY or much more affordable at an indie shop with even basic Audi experience with the timing or toothed belt being the most expensive and largest risk for even more expense should it fail.
That all said it seems that nailing down a comfortable mileage for performing the timing belt service is not an easy thing to do as there are so many different opinions on this it can make your head spin.
