Car pops when hitting acceleration/deceleration
Dear Members,
I need help to know the reason of this. the car runs fine when accelerating from stop position. However when I catch speed (any speed) the car knocks (jump feeling) whenever i take my feet from the accelerator or press the accelerator. It only pops at the moment i hit or take my legs off the accelerator. I dont hear any noise though, its just a hard knock feeling from under my foot.
For your info this started to happen after doing a boot replacement/regreasing job to my axles. I did that cause i had a vibration when accelerating. The boot replacement successfully took off the vibration, but introduced that strange strong knock and it really worries me.
Any idea why is this happening?
Thanks.

If it only started to happen after your axle job, then most likely was due to a step of 2 in that job. Did you replace the inner cv boot or outer?
When I replace the outer cv boot, I always remind myself not to knock the axle off the inner joint. I have never owned a CVT, but the front axles of quattros shouldn't be that different from the CVT.
I would also check the engine mounts to eliminate one possibility. Need two people. Open the engine bay. Watch the engine as the other person start the engine, also when shifting from P to R.
