Chrome Window Trim, Not pretty

Chrome Window Trim, Not pretty
I think this is a pretty standard problem and I don't know if there's a fix. I've got a white A4 2.0t Quattro and I love it. Beautiful, clean, doing some fun things with the engine and hopefully suspension soon. The chrome trim around the windows....not so much. I've tried several polishes. Some wadding polish. It just looks awful. I've read and read and there is no real solution. I saw early posts where people were actually having it replaced under warranty. then I've read that people opt for the black trim as in S models, which on mine, in white would not look good to me. I am sort of at my wits end on this one. Seems so simple but somehow unsolveable. Anyone have any tips or ideas I didn't try yet?

inexpensive and incredible outcome that completely changes the entire look of the car. Vinyl wrap has held up very nicely though power car washes and everyday driving & rain. Had it for 4 months now and still looks great. These are before and after photos.
