You guys with cold start oil pressure issues really pull the oil pan and inspect the oil pickup tube. They plug up just like 1.8Ts did. The oil cokes in the turbo and goes down into the pan and piles up in the pickup screen.

I'm having the same problem. Low oil pressure warning and diesel engine-like noise happening on the coldest day of the year (-17C). It seems to have been running fine, even on the cold mornings, but failed yesterday immediately after one cold start.

It will be warm tomorrow, so I'm considering trying it again and driving it a mile to a hobby shop where i can remove the sump, screen, and tube for inspection. My better judgement tells me, though, that I should have it towed to the dealer.

Did Audi ever tell you that this may be a common occurrence with extremely cold conditions and perhaps exacerbated by the vehicle sitting around for some time?
