cruce control perodically "falling out"
After having tried the forum of Audi Club Denmark without result I try you!
My Audi 3.0 DTI Avant 2005 had cruice control built in three years ago. Aprox. one year ago the cc began to "fall out", i.e. the speed dropped a little and then it "picked up" again, resulting in a quite unpleasant accelleration. It has now got worse and sometimes the problem is present all the time. Other days I can drive without problems. I have the feeling that the problem is more frequent at higher speeds, say over 100 kph.
I have asked my mechanic and he says that it is a known problem. He says it a software problem that unfortunately not can be solved without installing a new "control unit" (?) since the old one cannot be updated. I think that sounds strange.
I'd like a second opinion on this becaus I have experienced that these guys sometimes gives rather "selfish" advice.

Hi.
I seem to recall an engine ecu update for this complaint and it's usually rectified by updating the existing ecu. However this is usually done by a main dealer using an update disc or online connected to Audis server.
