Dealership or mechanic.... or sell it
I thought I was registered here under a different email, guess not. 1st post but I browse all the time. I have a 08 a4 2.0t. Currently I had a cam follower bust and caused p2293 faults. Once I found it, I replaced the cam follower and hpfp (it was worn). I need to get the intake cam replaced but that's over my level. At the same time. I am experiencing rpm fluctuations which I have read about on here. Mostly in low rpm (I drive like a grandma), and when the automatic is shifting into gear. Fluctuations appear to be around 100, sorry no vagcom. Also getting a p0171 code, with "gas cap open". I just got my n80 valve to replace that. I've done coils, plugs, oil, probably due for tranny fluid (I'm at 115k) fuel filter replaced.
I'm rather certain it is the tcc and intake cam need to be replaced. My question is, I'm out of warranty, should I go to dealership, or a reputable mechanic locally? I called AOA, they wanted nothing to do with me. They said I need to take it up with my local dealer.
I know these repairs are about as much as the car is worth at this point. So I'm really not happy.

Not sure why you thought AoA would help - you are way out of warranty. Find a reputable Euro indy shop. preferably one that specializes in VW/Audi.
