Help needed to buy an A4 with miles
Hello Audi-Lovers,
I am looking to buy my first Audi and I need some advise of you Audi specialists!
The model would be an A4 from 2006 to 2008 with around 70k miles. S Line is an option.
What are the known issues and what should I take specially care of when making my selection?
Thanks to all of you and have a great day!

Alice, which engine are you looking at? What is your budget? Will you have reserves set aside for repairs (planned and unplanned)?
Welcome aboard!

My budget is around USD 13,000, and I find several A4's with 70k miles for this budget but I am not sure what engine they have. I have reserves to pay repairs but I know that some repairs can be quite exhaustive such as the time belt and I would like to know if there are other 'pain points' I have to be aware of.
Thanks a lot for your comments.

if is 2.0t make sure timing belt is done, if not get it done asap. check cam follower, you might have to replace some ignition coils and or do carbon cleaning.
I would stay away from cvt transmissions if you plan to keep car for a long time. tip and manual are rock solid. diverter valve should be replaced if its the original version.
you take care of those things and the car will take care of you.
there were a couple of recalls, I think the sunroof was one of them.

Don't do it. I'm not a die hard enthusiast and own the a4 and my lexus puts it to shame. You're asking for a headache and if you don't feel comfortable getting underneath your car or paying for whatever service you might need then don't. Good luck
