Default Buy or wait?

Heya guys! I am in a situation where I am unsure of what should I do. I found a 2006 Audi A4 quattro with a premium package for 25k or 500$/m financing x72m with 0$ down. Pricewise I am OK with it, its within my budget. The car is an Audi Certified Car (used from a lease). I am unsure if I should get this, OR wait until NEXT year and get a B8 which will obviously be more expensive. What is the downfall of owning a B7? 2.0T. The car still has two years of warranty or 40k km's.
I currently own two Audi 90's, and the only reason I want a new Audi is because my 90's need a HUGE body work so that I can keep them for years to come.

Thanks,

I'm a little curious how you would pay $500/mo for 72 months. That seems like a lot. What is the total purchase price, including tax, and what is the interest rate? Are you shopping payment or purchase price? At $500/mo it seems like you will pay about $10k in interest depending on what your rate is. I could be wrong, but it seems like you will end up paying about $35k for a 9 year old car?

You can get a new A4 now for less then $500/mo if you lease. Unless mileage is an issue.

yea 500 a month for 72 months, thats 36grand for a 25k car? Your intrest rate must be high, anyways 2006 for 25k seems a little high in my opinion, unless it is a quattro with the gps.

If you look on ebay or even autotrader you can find a good 2006 for less than 20k, good 2007's with the gps go for 25k. But if your happy with the deal than its all good.

In my opnion, wait

its a 2.0T with a premium package + bluetooth + navigation. 25k total tax in. 4.9%. like I said, price-wise I wouldnt mind having a 10k interest for a 9 year old car (well, I would, but I will be MOST likely making a downpayment, and pay more than monthly fee to finish paying for her earlier, IF I take her). But quality wise, is it a reliable car? I was told that B5's for example were not good at all, B6 so so.

In terms, of dependability, durability, quality, reliability, satisfaction and service, B7 (2005.5 to 2008 for the A4 and S4 and 2007 and 2008 for the RS 4) and especially B8 (2009+ for the A4 and Q5, 2010+ for the S4 and 2008+ for the A5 and S5, the first B8s) are worlds ahead of the B6 (mediocre at best) and especially the B5 (very bad).

Just check Consumer Reports and True Delta (don't bother with other surveys; they are much inferior to CR and TD). They say the same exact things about these B platform Audis that I am saying (I got this information from the automotive gods at CR and TD).

I'm guessing the price is in canadian. Even if it is, the car is way over-priced (unless its a S-Line w/Ti, which is still a bit above average). I recently (late feb) purchased a 2007 B7 with premium and convience (HID, Rain/light sensor, folding/dimming mirror) packages with BT, but no NAV for 20k USD in New York. It is also Audi certified. The average price for a CPO'd 2007 A4 is around $20-$22k USD depending on the package, the 25k asking price is way too high. Look around, there should be good deals for a lot less.

Also, don't bother with waiting a year to buy an used B8, I looked around for a B8 while shopping for an A4, I'd say only 5% of the B8s is less than $30k right now, and they are all stripper models (or FWD). Even if you wait a year, and after another 10-15% deprecation, you are still looking at $26-$28k for a stripper model with high miles. The B8 you should get, the premium plus models, would still be well over $30k a year from now.

Thanks,
If you lived in the US I'd invite you to buy my 2008 A4 Quattro with leathe seats, Tiptronic, Bi-Xenons, etc.. When I turn it in Sept. 15th it will have under 30,000 miles on it. Nerver been hit, dented or had any issue other than a fuel sensor that was replaced early-on under warranty. I can buy it for $21,300 USD and would make a decent deal.
