Key Reprogramming
After replacing the ignition switch on my 08 A4, which turned out to be unnecessary, the remotes no longer worked. I followed the directions from 3 posts to this site and none of them worked. The 4th post mentioned reading the owners manual (RTFM!) and the process worked perfectly.
1. Press the unlock button on remote to be programmed
2. Insert the key into ignition
3. Turn key 1 click (not to start!)
4. Turn key back and remove from ignition
5. Press either lock or unlock to complete (I used unlock so that's what I can verify works)
Do the same for additional keys, no need to press unlock multiple time as suggested in some, HOWEVER, that may be necessary for cars with more options than mine. Again, I love this forum but you just might want to start with the manual (RTFM)!
