Looking at a 06-08 2.0 Q A4
Hello All,
Like the title says, looking for a 2006-2008 A4 quattro for my son and I have a few questions after doing some research. The first that I have come across that has concerned me is oil pump. Is this an issue on these models or just something you hear about when it goes wrong. I know that every car has certain "issues" (like my 01 A6 Avant) but was wanting to hear from those that have the car. Any other common repair issues ? How are the transmissions ?
I know that good maintenance is the key but even with the scheduled maintenance done on time or even more than recommended, some issues still seem to appear.
Thanks in advance for any input.

cam follower, PCV valves and oil consumption are probably the most common problems for the B7. I had my PCV replaced under warranty, and paid to have my cam follower replaced just before the 4 yr new car warranty expired. It was wearing but not worn in my case so I now know I can go at least 80,000 km before I should really worry about it. Other folks haven't got that much life from their cam followers though and have been replacing more frequently.
