New B7, worried about potential cam chain tensioner noise (video)
Hi guys, I just got myself a 2005 2.0FSI in good nick, but I do have one concern with the loud ticking noise at idle.
My own research so far has shown that
a) its normal, its a naturally loud diesely sounding engine
B) possible cam chain tensioner issue
I have uploaded a video to youtube, the noise seems more prounouced at the rear of the engine or left side. I used a screwdriver as a steposcope and you could hear some rattly clicky noise coming from what im assuming is the chain cover at the rear.
im planning on taking it a shop but would like some input online before i do so.
Cheers
