Default New Keys

Hello

I'm having a problem where it seems my FOB is not communicating to the car. I can use the key as normal if I manually lock/unlock. There are no error codes so I'm thinking the transmitter in the key is not working. I have RossTech so would I be able to get a key with transmitter online and have it cut and program it in myself? I just don't want to have to pay $$$ for new keys from Audi.

Thanks in advance.

Have you tried simply replacing the battery?

Yes I have tried that. I've also tried the key matching as in the manual and also using RossTech. The led in the FOB turns on every time I press a button.

You may just have to bite the bullet and let the dealer reprogram your keys, I know I did.

Might have to. So you couldn't match a new key to the car without the dealer programming it?

Put key in ignition and turn to accessories position. Hold unock button for 5-10 seconds. Remove then should work. Do it for each fob.

This is what to do if you have removed the battery and they stop working so may work for you too. Happened to me today.

When I bought my B7 it came with only a single key, a replacement fob that had never been programmed so I didn't have a choice but to go to the dealer, buy a valet key and have my fob programmed. I tried doing all those tricks about holding buttons, inserting the key in the locks, etc... but none worked.
