Reading lots of DIY methods of oil changes on the 2.0 B7 with people having trouble with changing the oil filter underneath, and needing drain tubes etc.

But I'm pretty sure my filter is easily accessible from the top of the engine, and the housing just screws off easily... can someone confirm that my 2.0 tdi A4 B7 doesn't require the tube and draining and I just unscrew and change?

While I can't answer your question, I will say I bought the tool to change it. It's the cleanest method I've ever seen. Not a drop spilled and takes no more time than a regular oil change.
