Default Swapping the 2.0t drivetrain over to the 3.2

Greetings. It has been almost 5 years since I sold my A6 and last ended my Audi adventures. By way of a few coincidences and opportunities, I have since come into the possession of:
1) a 2006 A4 2.0T - good engine/trans but extensive unibody damage @ 68k
2) a 2006 A4 3.2 - good body but busted trans @ 300k (!!!)

Looking at the financial picture, it seems that the most reasonable thing to do there is swap the 2.0t engine/trans/etc. over to the 3.2 body and then part/junk the 2.0t husk. I'd rather not try and resuscitate the 3.2 drivetrain at that mileage.

I have done the research and am ready to go on the mechanical side of the work, but my question is this: will I be able to preserve the 3.2 cluster/key (@ 300k miles) and re-code the immobilizer to start the 2.0t? I would, of course, prefer to do a total 1:1 swap, but I can't show up for inspection here with the 74k cluster when title history is for the 300k car. So for those who have experience: where should I "end" the transition of components? The harness, ECU, and TCM modules are going to come with, I imagine, but I suppose what I'm getting at is what would take the least amount of work and titling/inspection headache?

I had to some major work on the A6 that involved replacing the instrument cluster back in 2009, but had the worst time getting it running thereafter. The dealer simply was not able to program the brand new cluster and... let's just say I had to tap my Russian network and then deal with the annoying yellow immobilizer light blinking at me incessantly for the next few years. I would like to try and do it right this time around!

1:1 swap is the best method. If you really want the cluster to read 300k you'll probably need to tap your Russian network again. I think you'll have better luck getting the mileage changed than making the old cluster work with the new ECU etc.
