Timing Belt - Did I do it right
Hey - I just changed out the timing belt (and tensioners, water pump, thermostat, and accessory belt using the ECS Tuning kit). the car is a 2007 A4 B7 with the 2.0l. During the installation I had to do a lot of fiddling to get the timing marks to line up - although I lined them up prior to tear down, they did not line up after the belt change. I ended up taking the belt back off and reinstalling the lower cover and pulley and lined everything back up. Not ideal, I know.
As I worked on it I moved the cam pulley just one tooth on either side of the timing mark - that shouldn't be a problem. On the other hand, I rotated the crank pulley full rotations several times and that has me thinking.
I have it to the point I could start it. I have cranked the engine by hand several full rotations with a screwdriver in the number one cylinder and get TDC with my timing marks aligned. It doesn't take any undue force to turn the crank. So, I think I'm good but was wondering if anyone had thoughts on any potentially non-destructive testing.
Thanks!

In the ecs instructions it mentions you may have to turn the cam a tooth back because once you turn tensioner it advances a little bit.
That's exactly how I did mine and after turning by hand 2 rotations the timing marks fell perfectly everytime.
