2.0L engine , is it the same
I just noticed that the 2.0L engine in the A3 is transverse mounted as opposed to in-line like the A4. So my question is the 2 engines the same or did Audi redesign the A3 engine. I guess that now makes a little sense as to why they went with a new 6 speed transmission instead of the 8 speed. I also see they put a dipstick back in the engine but do not see where the oil filter is. Also if this is the case have they fixed the oil consumption issue. Being this is the 1st year of the car it will be interesting to see what bugs start to pop up. I'm seeing quite a few new A3's with less then 8000 miles one them which gives me pause as to why they were turned in. Is anyone seeing 1st year issues yet.

They did come out with a new 2.O engine. I think it started with the 2014 A3. I'm not sure if it is now used in the A4. I think One big difference was the turbo was moved down onto the exhaust manifold.
