Hi, I discovered today that the radiator fan on my 2009 A4 is rattling. When I turn off the ignition, I can hear it wind down and it sounds like it's hitting something. I opened the hood and the driver side one (turns out there are two!) is wobbly. I can reach down and wobble the fan on its axis. A buddy has a bit newer A4 and his doesn't wobble.
My question is, is this something that a semi-capable person could fix? Or do I need to turn to a pro? Any advice is appreciated.

Look around. Do you see all the screw/bolt/wiring connections to remove the fan? You're going to have to take it out so that you can replace the fan bearing. It will be an involved job.

The fan on my wife's 2009 A4 2.0T is failing too - fan motor squealing badly. Does anyone know where to find a write-up for replacing it? Does it have to go into service mode, bumper off, etc. or will it come out directly?

Did you ever find instructions or help for this? I need to attempt the same fan replacement repair next weekend.
