Take a look above that area to the bottom of the turbo and locate the oil return line that goes from the turbo to the block. Look for the stainless steel band clamp around the turbo and the line is right beside it. You may be dripping oil from there.

Turned out to be the front crank seal. I have not replaced it yet. I did first replace the upper timing cover gasket thinking that was the problem, but still leaks. I'm debating whether to get the front crank seal replaced, dealer, quoted $347, or getting the entire timing chain and guides replaced because of the failing tensioners in the early B8's. For the full timing chain job quoted $2100. Small independent shop quoted $1100.

If it's the original tensioner, I'd strongly recommend getting it replaced. It is prone to failure and the results are very expensive! Once it's open you can decide on the chain and other parts. My 2011 chain has limited stretch after about 55K miles. The tensioner was done 2 years ago and I periodically check the extension of the piston through the inspection port on the lower cover.

I'm trying to figure out an oil leak myself. So I had a bad pcv valve go bad and I put a bypass kit on. Now it's leaking oil. All the line on the bypass r tight. Is there maybe a line that needs to be plugged that could bypass the pcv valve so if it goes bad it can still run
