I have been experiencing electrical amp drainage for quite sometime now. I finally broke down and had the dealer track down the draw. I was losing 3amps from the stereo. It has been disconnected since then. My question is does anyone know any information about putting in and integrating a aftermarket stereo system in this model?

Audi said it can be done, but must be rewired. If not the stoke radio will cost me 2,400 coded and installed.

I've seen some Alpine stuff to replace the B8/8.5 head unit. I haven't found it in the US, though. Here's some links.

I guess my main question is, besides Audi am I able to have a Sound guy work on the vehicle and put a non stock radio in? Or is this typically the only one you've seen that works.
