Hi,

I just found your forums today and had a a good few hours learning a lot about the A4 B8. thanks.
However I didn't find much info on the problem I am having.

I am about to buy a Audi A4 2.0 TFSI PRO LINE first sold June 2010 in the Netherlands. The owner says it doesn't have an alarm system and I cannot find much about the standard alarm on this model.

In order to get any theft insurance in NL Audi's need an audible alarm that activates on the car being tampered with or any attempted lift. We call it a Class 3 alarm.

Does anyone have any information about what I should expect from the B8 generation A4 in terms of factory alarms/ immobilizer and security capabilities?

I don't know what was standard in NL but open the drivers door and look for a button on the door "blade". There should be one or two buttons to disable the interior alarm and (or separately) the tow-away alarm.
(I hade two buttons on my 2008 but only one button on my 2013 but both reacts on tow/lift and interior movement.) The interior alarm begins to sense movement inside the car 20-30 seconds after locking.)
