I'm definitely not trying to be rude or anything but if the owner of APR is walking around telling people that his ECU tunes are undetectable, shouldn't he back it by covering the cost of anything that the dealership now says they will not cover (specifically because of the tune)?
As a side note, my A4 is no longer under warranty and I'm looking to get a Tune in the next year or so. I drive a lot so I'm trying to figure out if I should put money into this A4 or get another to have as a project car...
Just my two cents...

Besides, you can "unchip" the car for warranty work, and that is undetectable, I have experience.
Get the chip! You will not be disappointed!

Yes, but apparently people are prepared to buy the APR tune, without that guarantee. So, presumably that's why APR isn't offering a guarantee of that nature.

So now APR has updated the Stage 1 and 2 chip tune to Version 2.0. I got this one last Friday and it is really fantastic! And FREE! (I should say free if you had Version 1)
I didn't think the tune could get much better but is has. The 91 octane is more like a 93+ tune! It's still winter here in Ohio and I have yet to try the 93 V 2.0, but I can't wait.
My car does have the APR exhaust and Carbonio intake, so I run Stage 2 all the time. If anyone has any questions, just let me know and I will be happy to answer the best I can. Here are the details I got in an email directly from APR, letting me know about the new version:
APR is pleased to announce a new enhancement to our entire B8 A4, A5 & Q5 2.0 TFSI AVL software lineup.
With over half a decade of development poured into this platform, APR's Engineers are pleased to deliver several free upgrades to our existing customers. APR Stage I, Stage II and our K04 Turbocharger ECU upgrades are now revised with our new calibration strategies designed to produce a fantastic driving experience with more power and torque on tap!
APR's calibration experts spent months working with the various ECU, hardware and octane configurations to deliver a driving experience second to none. Major improvements were made to the way the throttle behaves, leaving the driver to feel more connected to the vehicle than ever before. With control and response maximized, APR's engineers set out to increase power while keeping factory comforts in mind during part throttle driving. Engine load, valve lift, cam phasing and boost levels were all optimized to ensure the engine was breathing as freely as possible for maximum output. Ignition, lambda and other aspects of the direct injection fueling system were tweaked to raise and refine power further. The end result is a fantastic leap in performance and response that wakes up the engine sooner in the RPM band and carries horsepower and torque further towards redline.
New power figures.
Stage I ECU Upgrade:
• 301 FT-LBS and 256 HP with a max gain of +53 FT-LBS and +55 HP over stock on 91.
• 322 FT-LBS and 266 HP with a max gain of +74 FT-LBS and +66 HP over stock on 93.
• 323 FT-LBS and 282 HP with a max gain of +74 FT-LBS and +76 HP over Stock on 100.
Stage II ECU Upgrade:
• 341 FT-LBS and 287 HP with a max gain of +92 FT-LBS and +97 HP over stock on 91.
• 354 FT-LBS and 291 HP with a max gain of +105 FT-LBS and +101 HP over stock on 93.
• 359 FT-LBS and 304 HP with a max gain of +109 FT-LBS and +111 HP over stock on 100.
K04 Turbo Upgrade:
• 321 FT-LBS and 339 HP with a max gain of +121 FT-LBS and +149 HP over stock on 91.
• 342 FT-LBS and 348 HP with a max gain of +130 FT-LBS and +158 HP over stock on 93.
• 387 FT-LBS and 363 HP with a max gain of +145 FT-LBS and +171 HP over stock on 100.
APR's Stage 1 and Stage 2 ECU Upgrades are now version 2.0 while the K04 upgrade is version 3.0. APR's electrical engineers are upgrading hundreds of ECU files as we speak with roughly 70% completed at the launch for the North American Market. Our rest of world software will follow shortly. Please contact your APR dealers and importers today to check for availability, submit requests and schedule appointments.

Are the diverter valves on still an issue on B8 A4s with chipped-level boost like it was when i had my '07 A4 Apr Stage 1? I went thru 3-4 valves back then. I'm planning on getting a 2015 A4 and then an APR tune....but not if I have to play diverter valve games. No time for that BS now.

Thanks, SR7D1. It wasn't a huge issue because the dealer was pretty good about the 1st or 2nd replacement. I ended up putting in a "G" model myself. But now I've got worry about TD1...
