Audi A4 (B8) 2.0l 144kW Multitronic Powerbox
Hi audi enthousiasts!
Just ordered my 190hp A4 Avant (to be delivered in a couple of months) and was looking for ways to spice things up a little.
I want to refrain from doing chip tuning as it voids warranty and is a bit of a hassle with maintenance (software upgrades) so would like to stick to something that's easily installed, removed and re-installed whenever I like or need to.
Powerbox is my only option I guess and i wonder if anyone has any experience (good or bad) with the Ptronics?
P-Tronic chip tuning : tuning box for diesel and petrol engine
One of my main concerns is the extra torque they advertise.
For my configuration they would go from 400Nm to 492Nm (or so does the site claim).
On other (chip)tuning websites I find that they usually only go up to about 430Nm and maximum 450Nm.
One of the guys I talked to says that 450Nm is the most these Multitronic gearboxes can handle.
So if this is a "universal" box, fit for both the manual and automatic gearbox, maybe it's "intelligent" enough to know the difference and tone down a bit on the torque accordingly?
Or am I looking at a potential disaster in the making with this Powerbox and can expect my Multitronic to give out in the (near) future?
Any feedback would be much appreciated.
Thanks!
