Audi A4 model 2012 but chassis is 2011
According to VIN number the model year is 2012. That is based on the 10th figure of VIN, which is C.
However, the chassis is like previous model year 2011 and earlier. That is grill shape and shape of both front and rare lights. Build date is 07 / 11.
Any one knows why the discrepancy?

That is normal.
I don't know the exact date for the turnover but it was later and I have noticed that early face lifted (eauropean) cars are marked with a D in VIN. Also when the build date is as early as Januari 2012.

I suppose D is for model year 2013. It seems that the 2012 facelift is actually model year 2013, marked as D in VIN. Am I right?
